Urgency : A feeling of needing to go either #1 (micturition) or #2 (defecation) excessive parasympathetic tone can increase urgency. The medications used for irritable bladder are effective because these drugs decrease parasympathetic tone. Atropine is used for diarrhea, it too decreases parasympathetic tone.
