Possibly: It has a higher chance of saving your life than hurting it. Death rates from motor vehicle crashes have dropped significantly because of airbags and other safety improvements in cars. The risk of minor injuries from airbags (abrasions) are worth the benefit of less head injuries and death from mvcs.
