Depends on status: Neuroblastoma is usually malignant and matastizes. Sujrgeryh depends on what is found by studying the patient.

Depends on location: Depending upon the site of the primary tumor in the neck, spine, mediastinum or retroperitoneum, that body cavity is entered & complete gross resection of the primary tumor (with adjacent lymph nodes) is undertaken. The blood supply to the tumor is identified & ligated. Surrounding vital structures/organs are preserved in the great majority of cases.

Surgery: First surgery is needed to sample the tissue and confirm the diagnosis. If the mass is small and not involving other structures it can be completely removed. If large it can be partially removed. Chemotherapy is then used to treat the residual. A second surgery may or may not be required.

Surgery: Surgery either laparoscopic or open to sample or remove tumor completely (if small). Then determination depending upon cell type to address whether chemotherapy is needed.
