A member asked:

If my son was born extremely prematurely but is now stable, what long-term problems should i expect for his health?

It depends: Long term effects from prematurity depend upon the medical course your child had in the nicu. There can be problems with sight, hearing, motor development, lung function and heart function. There may also be no problems at all. Close followup by your pediatrician and a developmental team is essential.
