Is an instrumental delivery exceptionally painful?

No: A vacuum delivery is not exceptional painful. A forceps delivery could be if you do not have an epidural.

Can be: If you are going to have a forceps delivery, it can give you significant pelvic, vulval, and vaginal pain. You can receive a labor epidural or pudendal block which will blunt or alleviate pain.
