Yes.: The sequence is, alcohol to acetaldehyde to Acetic Acid (vinegar) to carbon dioxide, of these, acetaldehyde is toxic, as is, of course, alcohol itself. Antabuse (disulfiram) works by slowing down the conversion of acetaldehyde to vinegar.
