Liver cancer stage: Assuming that this liver cancer is hepatocellular carcinoma, ajcc (american joint committee on cancer) stage III refers to one of the following scenarios: multiple large tumors or tumor involving the portal/hepatic vein(s)/major branch thereof or direct invasion of adjacent organs (other than gallbladder) or tumor perforation of the liver capsule.
