Why is mrcp better than ercp?

Not necessarily...: Mrcp is less invasive and carries a lower risk for complications compared to ercp.

Not better..differen: Both tests provide diagnostic images of the biliary tree and pancreatic duct, either by MRI (mrcp) or by direct injection of contrast and traditional x-rays (ercp). Mrcp is essentially risk-free but can only be used for diagnostic purposes. Ercp is an invasive procedure that requires anesthesia and has risks, yet allows us to biopsy any growths and, if found, remove stones from the bile duct.
