Why do people say the second trimester is the easiest?

Better nausea and...: Usually in the second trimester your nausea has decreased but the discomfort and heaviness of the third trimester hasn't come yet. For a lot (but not all) the second trimester is slightly easier. I would never say that any part of pregnancy is easy.

It's true!: I tell my patients that the second trimester, generally, is the good part of the pregnancy - it's after the nausea, and before the constant low back pain, heartburn, and contractions!
