Various treatments: There are three main treatments for coronary artery disease: medication, percutaneous revascularization (angioplasty and stents), and surgery. Medications enables the heart to deal with blocked arteries but generally does not remove the blockages. Angioplasty is able to remove the blockages so that blood flow is improved. Surgery provides an entirely new source of blood flow to the heart.

Another idea: Narrowing of coronary arteries usually is a result of atherosclerosis, a buildup of plaque on the arterial walls. It is the long term effect of inflammation, cholesterol and aspects of lifestyle. If someone is motivated to change exercise habits, stress levels and diet, investigate the insurers- and medicare-approved program of dr. Dean ornish (www.Pmri.Org). It's work but can reverse this.
