Daily weight: Daily weights and report to physician if a few pounds of increase are noted. Also, counsel regarding need for low salt intake and control oral liquids to less than 6 cups daily. If weight decreases then it is time to hold a dose or more of lasix (furosemide).

Several: Low salt diet, daily weight and report rapid gain, report atrial fib or increasing sob, report increasing peripheral edema, tachycardia, change in bp.

Chf: CHF is usually manage with IV Lasix followed by oral Lasix to offload the heart by reducing preload and getting fluid out of the body. One should get an echocardiogram to evaluate if it's systolic or diastolic or a combination of both leading to the heart failure and optimize a heart with medications such as Coreg lisinopril, Lipitor, (atorvastatin) aspirin.
