What are nursing responsibilities in giving dobutamine?

Best to ask a nurse: Physician training and nurse training are very different. From a physician's perspective, i would want a nurse to monitor vital signs and cardiac telemetry. Nurses would obviously want to check on IV site, drug mixture, drug compatibility (if infusing more than one drug), etc.

Nursing dobutamine: Usually this drug is given in a special care unit. The nurse monitors the patients vital signs, i&o, infusion rate and CNS state. For any signs out of ordered parameters the nurse reports to the md or follows established protocols.
