Yes: Both pregnancy and breastfeeding can cause bone loss in mother. You should get adequate calcium through your diet and if needed supplementation. You should do daily weight bearing exercises as well.

Yes: Both pregnancy and breast-feeding cause changes in the processing and levels of the female hormone estrogen in your body. Normal levels and cycling of this hormone regulate bone health and when these are disturbed, some loss of bone mineral (calcium) may occur. This loss is generally unimportant as it can be made up rapidly after you stop breastfeeding. Just be sure to take your supplements.
