Depends: Depends on the type of cardiomyopathy. Some cardiomyopathies such as stress cardiomyopathy (tako tsubo) almost always get better. Other types of cardiomyopathy such as amyloid almost never get better. Overall, there may be 50 types of cardiomyopathy each with its own prognosis.

Yes, depends on the : Yes it can get better, it depends on the cause.If its due to drinking too much alcohol then stopping alcohol will improve it plus with the help of certain medications such as ace inhibitors or arb, s & certain beta blockers such as carvedilol.If its due to blockage of coronary arteries then revascularization either with a stent or bypass surgery would help.
