It may: Stress may cause irregular cycles. However, if you have had unprotected sex, you should check for pregnancy. Another cause is a simple "anovulatory cycle" where you just may not have released an egg, and a period is skipped. If your period does not come at the next cycle and you are not pregnant, you should be evaluated. Having a gynecologist is recommended to get routine exams anyway.Good luck.
