Urine protein: The 24 hour urine was to check for the amount of protein that the kidneys put into the urine in a 24 hour period. It is part of the lab work for the high blood pressure she is having. In addition to the bp, there is blood work and urine testing to determine the seriousness of the elevated bp's. The concern is pre-eclampsia, which is a serious health risk of pregnancy.
