Hello. : Hello. If he reaches a fever of 104 he should deftinately be evaluated. His global pain is likely related to his fever. Recommend use of a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory (i.e., motrin) to help with pain and reduce fever. He needs to stay well hydrated, recommend that he drink water at this time. A tepid bath can help to reduce temperature. If he has any problems with his breathing, he needs to be evaluated to ensure that he doesn't have pneumonia. With a fever this high, he is no doubt feeling extremely ill. If his headache becomes prominent with stiffness of his neck (pain with attempts to flex his neck toward his check) (and possibly vomiting) then he should be evaluated at the er.
