Hi. : Hi. I wouldn't try to diagnose a person that i had not evaluated. Why do you find the need to diagnose your roommate? Are you you majoring in social work, psychology etc?

Many possibilities: Your impression might be correct, but there are many social phobia psychological disorders that may affect persons in ways to produce the symptoms you have observed. There is a lot of potential self-help in Richard Davidson's book "Emotional Life of Your Brain" and this might make a much-appreciated gift you could give her.
