Not Normally: Thoughts and acts of suicide are more commonly associated with depression and who need to be treated. It could be a side effect of some medications you are taking. Please speak with your friends, family or doctor about your thoughts immediately so you can get help. You can also call 1-800-442-hope or 911 if you need immediate help.

No: It is never "normal" to attempt suicide. If someone has a passive-dependent personality, one needs to get with someone who knows how to treat it. It's a word or diagnosis, not a sentence. Life is difficult enough without being trapped in self-defeating behaviors. The fact that you have written gives me hope that you know there is something better in life. Be brave and get the help you need.
