Depends on severity: Anemia means you do not have the usual number of red blood cells. If you are in an airplane, where the oxygen in the cabin air is below normal, just like when you are up on a mountain top, your body will feel like it is not getting enough oxygen, possibly feel short of breath. With mild anemia you will not have symptoms, but when you are the equivalent of 2-3 pints low you will feel weak.

How anemic?: Agree with Dr. S. If are able to carry on activities of daily living and climb a flight of stairs without getting short of breath, it would be okay to fly.
