A member asked:

How long does it take to clear up blepharitis caused by an infection? will the blepharitis go away as soon as the infection is gone, or does it need more time to heal?

If : If the cause of your blepharitis is from an infection, then it will feel better after treatment. When it reaches the stage where it becomes symptomatic, blepharitis often requires chronic maintenace therapy or it may flare up. This does not necessarily mean prescription medications--just warm compresses, lid scrubs, lid massages etc.

After : After the infection is properly treated the lids must be made clean of all debris for the blepharitis to resolve. Your body must feel that the lids are clean before the inflammatory reaction is reduced.
