10: If the coronary artery bypass surgery was performed to prevent a heart attack, and if there is no heart failure or other underlying heart condition such as severe disease of the heart valves or abnormal heart rhythm, and if there is no significant lung disease or need for oxygen for any reason, flying can be considered safe 10 days after coronary artery bypass surgery.

2 weeks: There is no medical reason not to fly after CABG other than it is uncomfortable and you don't want to be in an airplane and having a complication, ie rapid heart rate, drainage from an incision, or having chest pain even though it is likely just incision pain. Also, you will not be able to carry a suitcase. If you must fly, i allow it at 2 weeks after office visit. Better to wait 6-8 weeks.
