Hello. : Hello. When you don't take in calories for several days in a row to a week, your body goes into a starvation mode to protect itself. Thus, it starts to burn calories very slowly. I don't know if you are a young person, and if so if you are happy with your size or not. I don't know if you are an older person and this is a chronic pattern. If so, don't know if your lack of appetite is accompanied things like GI symptoms, weakness or feeling ill. However, all animals (including us people) need food to sustain us. I would make yourself continue to take in healthy food even if the portions are small. I also recommend that you let your doctor know that you go for up to a week without eating. He or she will likely look into the reason for your lack of appetite and perhaps have you work with a nutritionist. Take care.

Unless : Unless you have other chronic medical problems, don't worry about it. Try taking in fluids with calories like gatorade. Normaly people don't just lose their appetite all of a sudden unless they have some illness like a virus causing nausea, diarrhea. Don't force yourself to eat if you are not hungry. When this illness goes away your appetite will come back. Just be sure for now you take in adequate fluids so you do not get dehydrated. See a doctor or urgent care if you are not better in the next few days or if you have fever, chills or abdominal (belly) pain.
