Buspar (buspirone) : Buspar (buspirone) is very different that xanax or ativan. It is not addictive, not a benzodiazapine and does not have the same mood altering affects. It works gently. Some people don't realize there is a difference (unless they stop taking it). I think it is a wonderful medication.

Yes you can: But Buspirone is not free of potential side effects either; no drug is. No 'natural' approach is necessary risk-free either. Buspirone can cause headaches and dizziness as most comon symptom, and i recommend starting 5 mg twice a day for several days, then increase to 10 mg twice a day and give it several weeks. Talk to the prescribing doctor for their advice. Psychotherapy is also an approach.
