Again, : Again, different people react differently to dilating drops. There are several different drops - some have longer actions of duration. Your vision will return to baseline - if the currently blurred vision is due to the drops (very likely), there is nothing your provider could do at the present time. (additional time is the cure). Regarding the stinging and burning.... Some patients (especially those patients with dry eyes) can develop irritation to the ocular surface after a trip to the eye doctor. The anesthetic drops and dilating drops and some examination techniques can harm the ocular surface transiently. Fortunately the eyes rebound quickly. For the symptoms you are experiencing (dry eye symptoms), i would expect significant improvement in the next day. Artificial tears may be helpful too.

If : If you have a corneal disease in that eye, they very well may have given you a stronger dilating medicine such as cyclogyl, (cyclopentolate) homatropine, or even atropine. If one of the symptoms of your corneal disease was light sensitivity, dilating the pupil helps prevent "pupillary spasm" which can be painful. Unfortunately, these drops also paralyze your ability to focus up close so it can make your vision quite blurry. These drops will eventually wear off. Hopefully the effects will have worn off by now since it was 4 days ago! if not, you may have received a drop like Atropine and you can contact your eye care provider for a more definitive answer.

Patients : Patients react to the medications slightly differently. There are many different pupil dilating drops with different duration of action. They can last from 4 hours to one week. I do not know what they mean by the "strongest" dilating drop but the drop that last about 12 hours sounds like cyclogl 1%. This drop can dilate the pupil from 8 hours to 48hours depending on the patient.
