Increased : Increased enhancement (uptake of injected x-ray dye) is something that can happen with a lot of different processes, including infection. By itself, that finding doesn't mean much. However, if you have a background history of liver disease, or the increased enhancement is associated with a mass, or if the enhancement is present early but goes away quickly (something that would only be seen if your study was done in multiple phases), then there could be more to worry about. In the absence of a history of liver disease, and if you have no current problems (that is--this was a purely incidental finding), then a follow-up ct in 3-6 months is probably all you need. If there are other liver issues, though, it might be reasonable to do something now, maybe even including a biopsy. Again, there are a lot of variables here. You probably talk to the doctor who ordered this ct scan to determine what is appropriate in your case.
