It : It is common for a person to take several medications. While the final decision of what medications to prescribe or not prescribe rests with the treating physician who has thoroughly examined the patient, it is important to keep in mind that the frequency of side effects depends on the number of medications that the person is taking. I cannot comment on the specifics or the suitability of this medication regimen for this particular case because I have not examined the patient and do not know the relevant medical history. However, the medications that you listed have the following main uses: xanax (alprazolam) is to treat anxiety, Lamictal is to treat seizures and may be beneficial in preventing bipolar illness, seroquel is to treat schizophrenia and several other conditions, including bipolar illness, and Luvox is an antidepressant that belongs to the ssri class. Hope that helps but please do not hesitate to contact our office if you have more questions.

Sounds like heavy: "cocktail." you are on 2 mood stabilizers, a strong antidepressant usually used in obsessive-compulsive disorder, and a tranquillizer. This sounds like a lot. You need to talk to your prescriber about your feeling overmedicated, and if they do not respond, request a second opinion. In general, benzos like xanax (alprazolam) are not a good idea in most psychiatric conditions. Luvox has many drug interactions.
