I : I would recommend you see a dermatologist who can place you on antiviral medication and appropriate medicine to alleviate the symptoms. Shingles: Most cases of shingles last 3 to 5 weeks. Usually 1 to 5 days after one experiences pain/burning in a specific area, a rash with blisters appears. This may take a week to 10 days to dry up & become crusty. STay off work if in severe pain. Although there is not a “cure” for shingles- Valacyclovir (Valtrex), Acyclovir (Zovirax) & Famciclovir (Famvir) can help symptoms.
