Arthritis, : Arthritis, ligament injury, fracture , tendonitis, nerve compressions such as carpal tunnel, spasm, synovitis all can affect the hand and wrist and make it feel different. Id call a hand or orthopedic surgeon or your pcp, as you know it is not normal formostl of us to have a hand that doesn't work.

If : If you can't bend your wrist back, you may have a radial nerve palsy. This may be treated with a wrist splint. It often improves without other treatment. You should be checked out by a physician to make sure that it's not coming from a pinched nerve root in your neck.

If : If you truly cannot move your hand or wrist, then you do not have cts, tendonitis or any of the above. I would be more concerned about a stroke. There is really not enough information here to provide a decent answer but, at any rate, if this person cannot move there hand and wrist then they need to go immediately to the emergency room.
