Do you have any safety tips on where my 12yo should sit in the car?

Depends on the kid: Belts came in the 50's, car seats came in the 70's. It's hard for parents to identify with devices they never saw as children. The safest engineered position in a car is the driver, followed by back seat mid, then back seat right with rt front the most vulnerable. Sixty% of single fatality wrecks kill the front passenger. A 12yo over 4'7"&100lb could sit belted up front, if not 4'7, booster in back.
