If : If your friend is still dealing with hip pain then she should see a doctor. If she was in an accident, fell, or suffered trauma for any reason then she could be dealing with muscle pain, or even a fracture. A detailed history, physical, and diagnostic testing which may include an x-ray are in order. In the meantime over the counter advil or tylenol (acetaminophen) may help, follow the instructions on the package for dosage information.
