We : We have discussed this issue many times already. The role of the tooth paste is minimal. Use correct brushing technique and pick a paste that tastes good to you.

Your : Your best bet would be one that has the ada (american dental association) seal of approval. These are the ones which have been tested to meet specific standards. Many of the toothpastes that are for sale in the dollar stores are manufactured out of the United States with little to no oversite. In addition, there are many carrying brand names which are fake. If you see any mispelling on the packaging, it is a good sign that they are fake. This is more common than you think.

Colgate : Do not use tooth paste from the dollar store , most of it comes from countries where the quality control doesn't exist. You don't know what kind of chemical or components they are using and if they are harmful to you . Go to your supermarket and get colgate toothpaste.

Consult with your Dr: The best mouth wash is salt and water, and the best tooth paste is the one that has seal of approval from ada ( american dental association).

Look for seal: Look for american dental assn seal of approval on toothpaste that assures quality and validity of claims made. Same for mouth wash, most are ineffective. Avoid dollar store products...You get what you pay for. And for an adult, floss and/or water pik more important than toothpaste. Make sure to brush 2 full minutes 2x/day & floss 1x/day.

Technique, not brand: There is no one toothpaste that is the best, but make sure that it has the ada seal on it... Good technique is more important than the toothpaste... Many of my patients actually use proper technique with a Fluoride rinse, and get better results than others with a paste... Flossing and rinsing regularly is also very important... Gently brushing with a 45 degree angle to the gumline, not scrubbing.

Don't need any: You do not need any toothpaste to clean the plaque from your teeth, just your toothbrush is an effective tool. As for toothpaste use a small amount of one with an ada seal of approval.
