Hello. : Hello. You can get green bowel movements when feces transits too quickly through the colon. Bile makes the stool green. As the stool makes it's way through the colon, water is reabsorbed back into the body, giving firm feces. There is also enough time for the bile to be metabolized leading to brown colored stool. When the feces moves too quickly, usually the bowel movement is loose or liquid. It is normally recommended that if you have a change in your bowel habitus that you advise your doctor. I am not sure about your pain. However, the left side of the colon (descending) can sometimes be involved in conditions that cause diarrhea. Take care.
