Water: Most people do not realize that tea is a diuretic which makes the body lose water. But it is a stimulant also. So to stay awake, try tea. To stay hydrated, drink water.

Mostly water but...: We should mostly drink water for hydration, ideally spring water of filtered water; it is best to avoid fluoridated water and water in plastic bottles. But there are health benefits to having teas as well, esp. freshly-brewed green tea or herbal teas like Tulsi, dandelion and ginger. Avoid pre-packaged teas that have large amounts of sugar.
