It : It sounds like you have a pinched nerve root in your back. This may be due to a herniated disc. I usually treat with oral steroids. Sometimes a medication called Neurontin (gabapentin) helps with burning pain. You should have an MRI if symptoms persist or if you have weakness or bowel/bladder problems. It usually resolves without an operation but surgery to decompress the nerve may be needed.
