Eating : Eating causes a shunting of blood to the gut to digest food. This can divert blood from the heart and if there are coronary artery narrowing, this could cause a reduction in oxygen to the heart. Also since the stomach is adjacent to the heart, bloating or distension of the stomach can press on the heart. Progesterone won't help.

What are you eating?: Sometimes people can have palpitations after eating sugary foods or a lot of carbs. It is also possible to get palpitations from MSG which is in a lot of Chinese food and evening some Italian food. It could also be caffeine or alcohol. Keep track of what you are doing before the palpitations happen.
