We run a pediatric ot clinic. do we have to consider and dispose of dirty diapers as bio-hazardous materials? we do not have a service set up for proper bio-hazard disposal. we double bag diapers and gloves with drool on them, and throw them in the trash.

In : In any of the pediatric clinics I have worked in in pa or ca, dirty diapers were not considered bio-hazardous materials and did not have to be disposed of in any special way. Diapers: Although the diapers may smell like biohazard they are not. Simple disposal in the trash is fine. A trash outside your treatment area is probably best or you will smell it all day!
