Was : Was the D&C for pregnancy termination? There should be few complications after this procedure. I would get an ultrasound of the uterus and ovaries - rarely, scarring of the inside of the uterus (endometrium) after a D&C can cause blood to build up inside the uterus - this is called hematometra. Ultrasound will also check for ovarian cysts. Your daughter also needs a physical exam to look for signs of infection, with blood tests and antibiotic treatment if this is suspected. Even though she dislikes doctors it is important that she gets follow up, especially as she is in pain. Best wishes.
