HPV: Genital warts are caused by one of the several types of human papilloma virus. Exposure to this virus is via contact with someone else who is already infected. Sexual contact is the primary way one is exposed and infected. Some hpv types are called "high risk" types because they can cause the lesion to become cancerous. If you are concerned then i urge you to see a dermatologist.
