What happens to a lazy eye if it's not treated? does the lazy eye eventually stabilize or does it keep getting worse without treatment?

It : It is very important to address the treatment of a lazy eye. If left untreated, the visual potential of the "lazy eye" can be severely limited. Unfortunately, once the window of treatment is lost, and this is generally in childhood ( the younger the better!), then any treatment will have limited or no potential to improve vision!

The : The window of treatment for lazy eye is small. It must be treated before the age of 10. Some will say 8 to 12 years of age but after 10, it is not really possible.

A : A "lazy eye, " or an eye with amblyopia, will never see to its full potential if not treated properly. This is because the proper nerve connections between the retina, the optic nerve, and the brain will not develop correctly if the eye is untreated during childhood.
