A member asked:

I have an old zygoma fracture this fracture is about 20 yrs old - the hospital never repaired it and for all this time i have a slight indentation to left cheek and every now and then my face goes numb from under my eye to the top lip. can this be repair

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Since : Since the zygoma fracture was so long ago i think you should concentrate for now on having the right orbit fixed. The indentation could probably be filled with injectable fillers or bone grafted as a cosmetic procedure. There is a small nerve that enters the face through a small opening between the most prominent part of the cheekbone and the nostril. This supplies feeling to the area where you have the numbness. It was probably damaged at the time of the fracture.
