Is : Is there a chance you are/were pregnant? It is estimated that more than 1/3 of all pregnancies end in miscarriage with the woman never even knowing she was pregnant. This would explain the late period and the increase in pain. If applicable take a pregnancy test. If you were otherwise, you could be having a heavier and more painful cycle this month due to it being late. If the pain persists beyond your period see your doctor. Take care.
