The : The treatment of nerve damage depends on just what the damage is. If a nerve is severed the treatment would most likely be surgical. If nerve damage is neuropathy the treatment would depend on the underlying cause. If a nerve is injured by compression as in carpal tunnel syndrome, the treatment is surgery to correct the compression. Nerves that are severed try to regenerate. This process occurs at about an inch a month. Nerves that are damaged by more extensive trauma may require nerve grafting. Good nutrition with a higher protein diet can help. If this doesn't answer your question, write in with more specifics about the kind of nerve damage you mean.

May depend: Specifically what nerve/s and how damaged but the va should at least help with assessing if B12 or other nutritional issues. There are newer techniques like nerve stimulation or treatment with pemf and microcurrent that could help but will not likely be available through the va. Discuss with your provider.
