Nothing : Nothing "cute" about it. Just means that the onset is recent and can either be viral or bacterial. Should always be seen by an ophthalmologist to determine treatment as some forms are very contagious.

Acute : Acute just means that it was sudden in onset, and has not been around for long. This can refer to any medical condition. The opposite of this is chronic, meaning long-lasting.

Acute : Acute conjunctivitis is one that comes on suddenly. The most common causes are allergy, dry eyes and infections. All three of these are treated with artificial tears and good hand washing. It is best never to rub your eye. If the eyes itch, cold compresses will help. If there is crusting of the lashes, warm compresses will help.

A : A cute conjunctivitis simply means that there is an inflammation of your conjunctiva (white part of the eye) that occurred suddenly. This is usually caused by an infection, typically by a virus in which case it is called a "pink eye". You should ask your doctor what type you have.
