What : What you are describing sounds like a minimally or nondisplaced nasal fracture. I am assuming other x-rays or clinical exam ruled out associated fractures. A smaller nerve branch in the lower end of the nasal bones that emerges to provide feeling to the skin in that area may be contused and swollen and typically recover slowly in time. What you regain by one year is typically what you end up with. In general, most sensory disturbances following contusion injuries have a favorable prognosis for recovery.
