Plumber's helper: When your pipes are plugged up, it's good to know which help is safe for your plumbing. Stimulant laxatives like bisacodyl, senna and Dulcolax help in the short term but be careful over the long term. They can lower your potassium. Good luck.

Unhealthy: It can be habit forming, especially if you're constantly using stimulant laxative. Constipation (except when caused by specific medical conditions or drugs) is almost always dietary; not enough water, not enough fiber, or too much of something constipating, or all three. You would do much better to eat a healthy diet and drink plenty of water. Then you will not need laxatives.
