I : I don't think one can put a specific time as to when a child is responsible enough to brush their teeth adequately. Every child matures at a different pace. How do you feel about the job your daughter is doing? Does she take at least a minute to complete her routine, or does she take 10 seconds? I would monitor her (possibly from a short distance) to see how well she does it. Most children want to please their parents and don't want to be reprimanded. When you bring her for her check ups, what does her dentist say? How clean are her teeth? That may give you more insight as to how well she is doing.

Not : Not long! your daughter is as bright or a little brighter than you, and unless she has an agenda that runs along the line of "how long can i keep mum waiting" she will want to be allowed to do what you have taught her on her own and be trusted to do the job properly. You are going to have to teach her well first. For that you might want to refer to my health guide. I have set it out in the link below. Watch her until you are satisfied that she has it right. Might i suggest 21 days dr neil mcleod dds dentistry that lasts - quality that counts.

The : The moment your daughter understands the importance of oral hygiene, you can consider "your mission accomplished" monitoring on a daily bases will only reinforce your teachings and a good word aplauding her accomplishments will live within her forever! good luck!
