A member asked:

My son is in the hospital on iv fluids everytime he goes in his temp spikes why? is there any relations to the content of the fl went in hospital with vomiting, cramping and runny stools, since being on iv he now is spiking a temp often

A doctor has provided 1 answer

He : He is more likely spiking a fever from the illness that brought him into the hospital than from the IV fluids. Fevers in general are not dangerous and are just the body's way of fighting off infection. If you have any specific questions about his care, you should speak with the doctors caring for him. I hope he's feeling better soon!
