A member asked:

I have a sore neck on both sides and can hardly turn my head. nothing else hurts and i had no trauma. should i be worried? it started with the typical "inside the back of my throat" pain. when that went away after about 4 days i thought it was over. then

A doctor has provided 1 answer

After : After a throat infection, some patients get enlargement of their lymph nodes, causing a sore neck (lymphadenopathy). Advil or tylenol (acetaminophen) and plenty of fluids, and possibly a warm pack, often help. If a patient had headache, fever, feels sick, or has a rash then they should have a medical evaluation, but otherwise the lymphadenopathy usually subsides on its own.
