Seeing : Seeing a doctor to confirm a negative pregnancy and rule out the possibility that the urine test did not pick up the pregnancy hormone (HCG) test is a good idea. They may be other hormonal problems such as thyroid or prolactin level problems affecting your menstrual cycle. Don't wait too long before seeing an ob/gyn doctor. Lack of menses for prolonged periods cause build up of endometrial tissue in the uterus which can result in very heavy bleeding later and also possibly endometrial hyperplasia (abnormal overgrowth of cells) and even endometrial cancer.

Many : Many conditions, as well as pregnancy, can make your periods irregular - commonly polycystic ovarian sydrome (pcos), also underactive or overactive thyroid, excess prolactin hormone, aging of the ovary (diminished ovarian reserve), or low hormone levels (hypogonadism) from heavy exercise, eating disorders, or stress. Some medications can affect your cycles as well. If you have a genetic tendency to have pcos and you gain weight it can make your cycles more irregular. It sounds like this is the first time you have been this late with your period. If the pregnancy test was a urine test you should get a blood pregnancy test to be 100% sure that you are not pregnant including a very early pregnancy or an ectopic (tubal) pregnancy. I recommend seeing a md to find out what's going on. If you are planning to become pregnant, see a reproductive endocrinologist for testing, and for treatment (if needed). Many re physicians can also see you for irregular cycles even if you are not trying to conceive. Our website is below. You can see also see an ob/gyn md. Best wishes.
